A Dog, a Cat, a Lion, and a Zebbra need to walk from Sakhmet to Qasala during a really bad heat wave. The heat is so bad, it's not possible to cross the open desert without some sort of shade. Fortunately, they have one umbrella. Unfortunately, however, only a maximum of two pets at a time can fit under the umbrella. The dog can cross the desert alone in 20 minutes. The cat can make the crossing alone in 16 minutes. The Zebra can make the crossing alone in 8 minutes. And the Lion can make the crossing in 4 minutes. Note that when two pets are making the crossing, they must do so at the pace of the slower pet!
What is the minimum number of minutes that it will take for all of the pets to safely be together in Qasala?

Other than the obvious: They can't possibly travel safely together because the lion would eat the other three (or at least the zebra)...LOL
Anyway, I'm figuring 52 minutes:
The zebra and lion go over first: 8 minutes.
The lion brings the umbrella back: 4 minutes.
The cat and lion go over: 16 minutes.
The lion comes back again: 4 minutes.
The dog and lion cross: 20 minutes.
You want to send the fastest (the lion) each time to bring the umbrella back the fastest for the next animal to cross over.
Obviously most people forget that someone needs to bring the umbrella back!

For some reason i thought it would be an hour even.
20 + 16 + 8 = 44
4 + 4 = 8 for the lion bringing it back...oh that's it the lion doesn't bring it back a thrid time to bring himself across. Like Homer Simpson would say: Doh!
