i am staying at the waldorf hotel. i've been to new york once (loved it!) and, of course, went to chinatown. i need to know the other spots i need to hit up to have the best shopping experience ever! hehe

i'm only bringing about $500 with me, so i dont want anyone to tell me to go to macy's and nordstroms and stuff, i want to know where the little boutiques are and places i can really get some nice stuff for a cheaper price. thanks everyone!

Besides the obvious Soho, Noho and Chinatown area, try parts of Chelsea, like stores such as Loehmman's (16th and 7th). Things may seem pricey at first, but get a loehmman's discount card (free), and the deals start rolling in. They carry all the major labels, plus some exclusive italian designers.

Filene's Basement is another great option; there is one at Union Square-14th Street, as well as others on 79th and Broadway and 18th and 6th.

Also, since it'll be serious summer clearance, you can virtually go anywhere in the city and find good deals.Try looking at www.luckymag.com for ideal places to shop, as well as where the sample sales and good sales will be going on around that time. Look at city guides on their webpage, and click New York City. Happy shopping!

Haha, our questions are very similar! I am going in 2 weeks & can't wait!!!! I've never been before....we are def. going to Chinatown. I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to my budget. I know one store we are for sure going to is H & M. I dunno if you've ever been there before, but there is not one near where I live, so I'm hitting it up. In case you don't know anything about it (I'm sure you do though), they have awesome clothes at great prices....really, really great prices. I always see cute stuff in Cosmo magazine made by them. Anyway, have fun & who knows, we might cross paths! Haha.

Start off at Walmart and when your money runs out you can get some quick cash in time square. I am sure you know the routine.
