You are is you've ever ridden in a car, bus or bought pretty much any commercial product.
Personally, I love global warming.
Look on the bright side: I wrote a letter on the positive effects of global warming for my geography class last year. I got an A.
To whom it may concern:
I found your not quite recent article entitled ‘Water World’ in the October 2003 issue of Current Science to be disgustingly one sided. While you managed to point out all of the negative effects of ‘Global Warming’, you failed to highlight the many positive effects of this phenomenon has on the Earth’s water cycle and our daily lives. Anyone can see that global warming is not only not something that we shouldn’t worry about, but that it is downright helpful to the world’s wellbeing. Quoth Benny Peiser, social anthropologist at Liverpool John Moores University, “Warm periods have been exceptionally good to us. Cold periods have been the troublesome ages.” Scientists estimate that 20 to 40 thousand people die each year due to cold and wintry weather. In Russia, a harsh winter can exterminate hundreds in one city alone. The United Kingdom’s Faculty of Public Health has discovered that for each additional degree Celsius that the mercury drops, we lose about 8,000 more people; which is a great amount, compared to the mere 2,000 deaths that each degree Celsius that the temperature rises.
Not only would the world’s citizens benefit from Global Climate Change, but the world’s economy would also be able to reap what they have sewn. As ice sheets that cover the world’s oceans melt and sea levels rise, brand new trade routes would open. Cruise ships, cargo ships and fishing liners would all have better access to these new passages. The northern hemisphere will receive more tourism, more new citizens and more economic growth. Because of the changing oceans, growing straits are going to be more and more useful. These new passages would cut down travel time between Europe, Asia and America by about one third.
Global climate change was described in your article as making the world ‘wetter’ and ‘hotter’. Aside from the article feeling redundant, it left me thinking about how a more southern atmosphere would help us out up north. If a southern climate migrates north, America’s breadbasket will move into Canada and South America’s climate would take it’s place. Hypothetically speaking, we could grow our own coffee, bananas or sugar. The emptiness of Canada could be used to grow wheat and corn, which could be used for alternative fuel sources and food. In addition to the improved ‘greenhouse’ climate, the higher levels of carbon dioxide would keep plants growing. The additional vegetation would do it’s part in the water cycle. Clearly, things will change. Not everyone will be happy with these changes. But I believe that with an accelerated water cycle, warmer climate more greenhouse gasses will not harm the world as people think they will. Next time you publish an article, be sure to check the facts and represent both sides. Global climate change is not the enemy; it is our very special friend. As Benny Peiser stated, “the benefits [of global climate change] will outweigh the costs by far.”
Respectfully Yours,

Anyone remember before global warming was an issue, cuz I do, and I remember the sun being hot. Yes, the Sun is hot, and as a star gets older, it grows, making it come closer to the global.

People are responsible for it, but the government should step in and take control. You can blame it all on Bush. He could care less, and is crazy enough to doubt that global warming is even a real thing.

There is not one single person responsible for global warming. We are all partially responsible. You can blame the industrial revolution for starting the use of fossil fuels. You can blame our oil driven culture of driving everywhere. You can blame the people in charge of our nation, who aren't going to further lengths to help alleviate the problems of global climate change. There's much more behind it than one single person.

The Earth has cycles or periods where it is cooler or warmer. It is just a natural thing the Earth goes through. (Thirty years ago all these scientist were freaking out about global cooling. You can find articles about it in old National Geographic and other science mags.)
