For example, a person who *thinks* it is odd that he always sees the number 422 i.e on clocks, phones, etc. but it is not that the number is appearing more often, but that his brain recognizes it, therefor it is more obvious to him. I cannot think of what this is called. Please anyone? Basic intro to psych! Thanks!

Well, I atually have the same problem, but it is weirder:
I see the numbers in sequences of 1's and 0's. I would see them on licence plates when I suddenly look up, or when I have the inclination to glance at the clock: 1:11. It's been going on forever and I didn't spooked until I actually saw it in a scary Kevin Bacon movie (I can't remember the name right now) when he looks at an alarm clock and it has those numbers!
You see, I've never seen that movie before.
I always believe that we are - physically - catching up to our mental premonitions.

Probably about 10x in the last month I have looked at the clock and it said precisely 4:20. I'm not kidding.
