Sox were 50-29 on July 2nd and 62-41 now. That's 12-12 since the end of interleague play.

The Red Sox have played 5 fewer home games than the Yankees. Those games are played in the middle of August against the Yankees. The Sox have to take at least 3 of those games. Agree?

Keep the faith! I know they have a ton of Yankee matchups coming up, I have 2 makeup games I'm going to, 1 here, and 1 in NY. They just picked up a great player, and it would have been great if we got abreau instead, but we still have a good team. What we really need is a pitcher, and a lot of our worries would be over. Getting rid of Lowell would be a horrible move. We'll see, Theo has 45 minutes to do something.

The Sox are going to move away from the Yankees at some point. The Yankees simply don't have anybody on their pitching staff who is very good anymore. Randy Johnson and Mike Mussina are out of gas and they're supposedly aces. The Red Sox have Josh Beckett and Curt Schilling, both of whom still have something left and Papelbon is probably the best closer in baseball. After all, how many playoff games has Rivera lost now?

The Red Sox won't win the American League East. For the past 3 years and now this year, they've always been winning the division, only to give up the lead in the last 2 weeks of the season. I see it happening once again. Yankees only a half game back as of today. Doubt this will cheer you up.

The Sox were just spooked by all those trains blowing their horns as they went by Safeco Field in Seattle, that's all. Once a real opponent, like the Mets were, and the Steinbrenners are, turns up, the Red Sox will be back to their winning ways. Look for them to play the AL Central team that wins the wild card, then the Tigers for the pennant.

OK mattapan. First of all you never should have traded meredith and Bard for Mirabelli. You strenthened the Padres roster and weakened your own. Where is Wakefield now? I think you must realize by now that the padres have a stronger roster than boston. Roberts, Gonzalez, Piazza, Greene, Cameron, and Giles? You might as well fail to make the playoffs because if you face the Padres, your season is over.

Back in 2004, you'll remmeber, they spent a couple months playing .500 ball. Then after they shook it up by ditching Nomar at the trading deadline, they went insane with wins. Hopefully they don;'t have to ditch anyone this time around...but tonight is the end of the trading deadline, so maybe they'll break out again.
