well you should keep in mind, that librals have had NO POWER for the last SIX YEARS! effing dumbazz republicans have all three branches in controll! therefore WE LIBRALS HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THE CHANCE TO DO SHITT!!!! i dont think its just the liberals that are destroying this nation, i think the conservatives are also playing a part in that. this country was founded on freedom of speech but the conservatives (and to a lesser extent, the liberals) are putting more and more restrictions over what is said in news broadcasts and printed on newspapers. it was founded on freedom over your own body yet the conservatives wants bans placed on abortion, all drug consumption, and other matters that deal with a persons right to use their own body as they see fit as long as no others are harmed. it was founded on freedom of cult but the conservatives want to ostracize people with religious views that dont agree with their own. it was founded on strength and discipline but the liberals (and to some extent, the conservatives) want everyone to walk on eggshells and cater to every single persons needs and demands. i think both the liberals and the conservatives are destroying this country; along with everyone who hates both of them (or either one.) this country was founded on tolerance, cooperation and the communal striving towards a common goal but all this hating and intolerance towards other peoples customs, beliefs and opinions is tearing society apart, we no longer work together because we are too busy hating each others guts.
liberals, conservatives, people in the middle, anyone who adheres so strongly to "one side" while hating the others is destroying the very values this country was founded on. life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I take it you're a conservative. By your reference to America as an "Empire," I think we can all conclude that there is something wrong with your neo-conservative line of thinking. I'm certain our founding fathers did not want an "Empire." They wanted a democratic nation.
