Erasing someone from your memory isn't the same as getting on with your life. I want to keep my memories...even the bad ones...to help me remember why it took place and what it was I supposed to learn from the experience. If it causes me pain; I take it as a sign there is something I need to go back and revisit...something I didn't get the first time around. This prevents me from repeating my mistakes; and seeking resolution toward any lingering difficulty I need to overcome. It is how we learn.

In a way we all have that ability to "erase" a past relationship/memory.
We do this subconsciously with the ability to change the perception of how our conscious believes how things happened in the past.
Follow me?
More or less we block or actually lie(change how things happened) in our memory and thus we block/erase memories to what we want to believe.

i do not know if i would want to erase anything from my mind about people..like if certain things had not happened then i prolly wouldn't be were i am.. i have done things wrong and have learned from them important lessons in life and in love..i do not think i would want to change or would trade anything for the position i am in right now.. i absolutely love even though at times it can be stressful so in answer to your question no i would not erase any one from my mind if i had the power!

Although there have been many times I wish I could, I dont think I would. People and experiences from my past helped to make me a part of who I am today. I have learned a lot from my past mistakes. I think people come into your life for a reason. Cool question btw

Yes. I think that most encounters with others, however unpleasant, should at the very least be taken as learning experiences and analyzed so that we may make better decisions in the future. But there are one or two rotters out there who have been beneath learning from.

Nope. Every time you meet someone, you learn something. I was with a boy for 9 months who beat me, and I would NEVER want to forget that, because it helps me be strong and have the ability to help others.

It's not always easy but if it causes pain keep working at replacing those thoughts with positive ones. Be grateful. It is probably for the best.

if you erased the memories you would have learned nothing and would make the same mistakes again with someone else
