Just start looking people up. Browse (at the top of the screen-second on the blue bar next to 'Home') for new friends or find those you know. Just message people you find interesting. Hey, the worst they can do is say no!

The phrase "Make friends" is used very loosely on MySpace. If you call clicking your mouse button and being added or adding some unreal people who are either strippers or 60 year old lonely men posing as other people -- knock yourself out.
There are too many horror stories about MySpace.
the real question is "Why would you make "friends" with people on MYSpace?"

People who have the setting to where it asks you for either their last name or email address usually want their privacy respected and they require this because they are only interested in adding people who actually know them. I suggest if you want to make friends, join a group that you are interested in, that way you know you will have something in common with the people you are interacting with. Unless you are just one of those people who will add anyone just to have a lot of "friends" on your page...then, find other people who just want to add people randomly too?? Hope that helps...

Try looking up some people you already know in real life, and check out their friends. That way, you can meet cool new people, who your real friends can verify are neat!
