i suggest 5% of you total savings should be invested in mid-to-high risk. it also depends of where you are on the life cycle. if you are below 30 years old, then you should invest at least 10% because you can tolerate losses as you are relatively young. if you are upwards of 50 years old, your risk tolerance will be much lower since your future earnings are much lower now, than what it was 30 years ago.

Most say 10% but it depends alot on your age older you get the less it should be
