I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist, so no, I don't think she killed herself at all.
I'm not quite sure who did, but I do know that her psychologist believed she was not in a suicidal mind-set. She had a problem with drugs previously, but she was getting cleaned up, had gotten a new job offer, and was planning a new home.
The main reason I think she did not kill herself was because she was locked in her room, with no access to water. It's possible to swallow pills without any sort of liquid, but very difficult to swallow numerous pills, enough to cause your heart to stop, without anything to wash them down. Plus, when she was found, she was stretched out on her stomach. If it had been a drug overdose, she would have been curled up in a fetal position.
I definitely think the maid had something to do with it. She was fired several weeks earlier, but the night of Marilyn's death, she was in her home washing the sheets from Marilyn's bed. So there was no evidence for the police and they ruled her death a suicide with no investigation. Perhaps the maid was working for someone who didn't want their to be an investigation?

Marilyn Monroe was murdered by Sam Giancana, mob hit-man. He used an anal suppository laced with an undetectable toxin. Apparently, upset at being scorned by Jack Kennedy, she threatened to spill the beans on his mob ties; and was promptly dispatched at the behest of Daddy-dearest, Joe Kennedy.
This is all chronicled in a book written by Sam Giancana's brother:

Joe. D. was convinced it was the Kennedys, her psychologist, Dr. Ralph Greenson, was certain she wasn't suicidal. There does seem to be a reasonable argument about her being murdered, however, she had quite the drug history and could have accidently overdosed. We'll probably never know for sure just like JFK's assissination.

No on both counts. I think someone up on the government security scale (possibly CIA) got rid of her. Marilyn was seen as a risk, and she had slept with TOO many powerful men and was threatening to use information she got out of them against them.
You have to remember, this was before the Lewinsky days, and the idea of the President having sex with someone besides his wife was a serious deal.
Had it been another time and place, Marilyn would have pulled through, with maybe a personal interview with Barbra Walters. But back then, if you talked too much, you were history, no matter how prominant you are. JFK himself could have told you that, but he too was "removed" from office.

Monroe?
Perhaps...
I have doubts that the Kennedy's would "get rid of hr".
They seemed to be fairly reasonable people personally.

You really need to read the book called Goddess-The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe. It confirms everything I believed....it sounds like she wanted more than she bargained for. She definately had a drug problem, but that evening she might have had a bit more help to push her over the edge. Read it.....there was alot of research put into it.

I think she accidentally killed herself, pill addicts sometimes take more than they should not thinking anything of it because they get a higher tolerance as the use goes on.
