Like if she or he's not there for you a lot of times?(like doesn't really listen to you completely) Would you still consider them your best friend? I've been friends with mine since we were like 3.

And bonus question (this does not refer to my best friend):
How do you know when you're in love?

If they're not there for you a bunch of times, then I'd probably consider them as just a friend. You can go to a best friend for help, and they'll be there to help you.

Bonus question:
You think about the person you love practically every day. And you love more than their looks, but their personality too. When you're in love, u wish u could be together forever. I'm not really good at explaining things, but i hope this helps.

question 1: I had a lot of really good friends until a car accident changed all that, now most are more like acquaintances. I still talk to them when I can, whether they're listening to me or not is a different story. *sigh*

question 2: There have been times where I thought I was in "love" but I was wrong. I've finally fell in love and I knew it happened when something deep down inside me just sort of clicked and said that there is something really special going on here.

I have a friend that I've been friends with since I was like 3 and we use to be close and all that great stuff, but now she's self centered and only comes around when it benefit's her and only wants to help if it won't effect her plans...And NO I DON'T consider her a best friend anymore...a close friend, but not "best"
And...for your 2nd question...
I wonder that myself. I don't think one ever really knows if they are really in love. I just think people find someone they can live the rest of there lives with and who gives them at leat 3/4 of what they want out of life...and love.

I can't really answer the bonus question. I don't love, but I can care, hence why I'm answering the first question....

I HAD that kind of friend. It was a oneway relationship, and he stabbed me in the back many (NO EXAGGERATION) times. I broke it off finally, after he told some friends one of my deepest darkest secrets. It wasn't worth it to attach yourself to that kind of a person. He never wanted to be there really, he only wanted to look like a good Mormon (HA!). He never really listened either.

If you want advice, I'm not advicing to cut off your friendship. I'd advice talking to him/her about it. If she's not listening, then ask him/her what's wrong. They haven't really been all there. Maybe that'll snap them out of it. If nothing seems to work, THEN give up on the friendship, but only after trying to mend it.

Hope you understand, and hope this helps...

if you have only one friend, they can be very unreliable and be your best friend... seriosly, to be a great friend i think you should care about the others success as much as thier own, if one isn't listening that seems uncaring.... iv had a friend since i was 3 and it got to the point where we only were friends because we always had been, i have another friend since i was 13 months old and i still care about her success, i just cant imagine a good friend not listening.

bonus q, if you cant stop thinking about them, you like them for more than thier looks or personality, you cant put your finger on what you like about them,
