This might sound strange, but I tend to be visited in my dreams by family members, before they die. Sometimes they're just beside me throughout odd things I'm dreaming about, but its enough that I remember it when I wake. Sometimes they are actually trying to tell me things. It never fails that I get a phone call the next day to say that that person has died. I told my husband about this when we were first married, but I don't think he believed it until I told him one morning about some dreams with my mom. He took the phone call later that day telling us she was gone, and has experienced it again a few times since then. So he believes.
My grandmother used to know when things were going to happen from her dreams. If she got up in the morning and told us she'd dreamed of fish, we knew we were about to learn that someone in the family was pregnant. If she got up and told us she'd dreamed of all of her teeth rotting and falling out, we knew that someone in the family was going to die. She was not EVER wrong. She had several different dreams she would have for different events, and we came to respect that about her. She had had a great aunt who was a famous psychic back in the early years of the 20th century, so she believed that her abilities came naturally.
So yes, it happens. LOL.

I hope to H** not. If the things that haunt my dreams ever came to life... what kind of freakish world would I be living in lolol... But I will tell you this... I have had profoundly sad dreams that reflect my current situation in life... specifically loss of a relationship. One morning I dozed off for few in my car (parked of course).. can't recall the dream specifically I remembered it had something to do with someone very close to me.. and I recall the feelings of really caring for them, wanting to protect them... suddenly I realized that I had dozed off and when I opened my eyes.. that profound feeling of sadness that I mentioned before washed over me... a feeling of being completely alone in the world acompanied it and then without understanding why I started to cry... I mean "Niagra Falls" and then I realized I was no longer dreaming... You see the dream, the sadness, the loneliness had already come true.. in this case it was not fortelling an event.. it was summarizing one that had already taken place.... my marriage ending.

I don't know what you mean by "objective verification", but I have done it several times. I remember the first time a neighbor had brought his hand-held game over and I thought to myself "no, this isn't right...if my dream had been a premonition for this I'd be playing the game." No sooner had the thought crossed my mind when he asked me if I wanted to play. It's happened several times since, where stupid little things that I would dismiss as too stupid to really happen, happen.

My daughter had a dream that a man was coming out of the woods from behind our house. He was dressed in black and white. He had long black hair and long fingernails. Our dogs were howling and lying with their paws criss crossed. She had the dream over and over. Then one day we were in our front room and all the dogs started howling out back. She got scared thinking of her dream.
She said mom this is just like my dream! My niece was at our house visiting and I was sort of spooked too. So I sent my niece around back to see what they were howling about. My niece came back around with her face pale white tears streaming down her face.
I asked her whats wrong then she said one of the dogs died it was a black and white cockerspaniel we had. The other 2 dogs stopped howling and their paws were criss crossed. At the same time across the road from our house in the cornfield I heard a dog howling but there was no dog around. 2 hours later our black and white cat died too for no apparent reason. My daughter never had the dream again. It was so weird how that all happened.

Yes, this has happened several times. How can you prove your dream came true, unless you make a prediction and proved it. I have done this before, in high school.

When my daughter was eight years old I dreamed she was bitten by a white dog. Forgot all about it, until that afternoon, after school, she was over playing with a classmate from school-the mother called me and said my daughter had been bitten by their dog. After the initial information , I asked what color the dog was........you guessed it! I have always remembered that.
