"universal" on this planet....
I assume that way out in another galaxy there could be anti-matter that causes any "addition" to result in nothingness, so its quite possible that nothing is "universal"

Mathematically symbols may be different, but the concepts represent truth, which never changes and doesn't depend on location. Math is in that way, a universal language.

the otherday one mathematician was telling me Math as we know it is only one such we could have infinite kinds of mathemetics depending on how we construe the numerals. I would say we really dont know what other possibilities exist. We have not met intelligent species other than ourselves to discuss over this.
