LCD--Lowest Common Denominator.
Everyone can have an opinion about crack, or whores, or crack whores, but in order to answer a political question, a person has to:
A. Care about politics
B. Know something about politics
And now you're no longer talking about everyone here at Yahoo Answers. Only a small percentage of them.
It's the same reason reality TV is more popular than CNN, too. People love to watch and comment on stupid crap.

Gee. I'm not sure I should answer this question since you didn't mine...but that would be immature..and since I'm ~~38~~ and ride cycles and horses..I'm also one of the millions that comes on here to be entertained and to entertain as well. As much as I don't tend to click on questions about crack whores, I have clicked on to a few about "gee, my man's cheatin' on me what should I do"...But that ended real quick....when there next question is "I'm gettin' married, should I?" And that's after I've just finished readin' and answerin' a sob story about how he's such a piece of crap! I don't get it!! Some questions on here boggle my mind. To your mind as well, I see!! Questions pertaining to democracy would bore my mind...I'll listen to CNN if I want any political excitement in my life...not here on Yahoo Answers. I enjoy this site because I have an over abundance of resource books and I enjoy helpin' people with whatever I can research for them. I also enjoy puttin' up entertaining questions...one can say "yer a perv' to them...but it's only the ones the don't read past the humor and finish reading the rest of the question that tend to irk me the most...Oh and the people that don't answer yer question. Those Smileyface point stealers are worse in my book that the pathetic ones that want to spread their personal family new around like how their sister is a crack whore!!
Oh...and welcome to Yahoo Answers...either you've been suspended or yer just gettin' started...have fun! And try to enlighten people with your wise wisdom!

Haha..I wonder the very thing a lot! Being a 3rd year journalism/political sci student, I conclude that the media has big time distracted society from spending time thinking about our democratic system of government. I cant say that the media is alone trying to lure the public away from what issues really matter, but politicians and government officials play a major role in what our news and entertainment media concern our daily lives with. It really comes down to who cares enough to know what is going on in our society. And if people don't think that it is important to fully understand our democratic system and how legislation works, that's too bad, and I hope they are not the ones who complain every day about how the country is being governed.

problem is...............not enough people are interested or educated enough to discuss such matters....but everyone knows or has heard something about crack whores.
Please......if the choice is between President Bush's administration covering up global warming scientific data or somebody's sister being a crack whore.........
I'll pick the whore everytime. At least there's hope that the crackwhore will get off the drugs and get better. With Bush there is no hope.
oh well..........just a theory.
