Have you been taking HRT all along? When did you start menopause? At 57 you should have gone through it already and be taking the HRT for other reasons. I know today that the main reasons for doing the HRT is to reduce the symptoms of menopause. They have found that it doesn't do much to reduce cardiac problems or osteoporosis.

Without all of the information it is hard to give much advice. I have included some links below that may help you make a decision. I know that I was placed on HRT several years ago and I had no period. I have since stopped taking the medication secondary to the studies findings.

"The HRT trial was scheduled to end in 2005. However, researchers decided to stop the combination-therapy part of the study in 2002 because they could see that the risks associated with combination HRT outweighed the benefits. Specifically, it was found that long-term use (5 years or more) of combination HRT resulted in an increase in a woman's risk of breast cancer, blood clots, heart attacks and strokes. For each of these problems, the increased risk was about 8 more events per 10,000 women per year, compared to women who did not use HRT."

It is my suggestion to not take any HRT at all and let nature take it's course. You are at an age where you should be in menopause and thus no period. Taking HRT or any kind of hormones only prolongs it. Plus the health hazard that they cause. Prempack C can cause hair loss when stopped. HRT has been found to not help keeping your from osteoporosis, breast cancers, cervical cancers, or heart disease. I wouldn't risk taking it myself.
You had a period, because of the hormones the HRT provides. Stop taking it and see what happens.
I am 50 and don't take anything. I am 8 months without a period and counting.

My mother went into menopause and stopped having her cycle. The doctor put her on HRT-Prempro, I think it was called, and it started her back up. If you have your ovaries, you might not need HRT. Check out a book called "What Your Doctor Doesn't Tell You About Menopause"--I forget who it is by, but it is an excellent book explaining how we actually get enough (Too much) estrogen from our environments and how we are all on overload. If you take HRT you will cycle.
