Several studies have stated CHAD is the poorest of the poor. Somalia must be close due to its great poverty and an on-going civil war. The southwestern area of Sudan is under oppressive government trying to starve them as a policy of genocide, and that might be worst of all.
The Congo, Ruwanda and Uganda are desperately poor as well as ravaged by AIDS. That is also true of Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere.
