It seems like most of the answers say women, and I would've agreed a few years ago. I've seen some jealous men almost to the point of stalking

in my experience people in relationships that have a problem with jealousy cannot be trusted. I would define that what most people call jealousy on the part of women is just a woman feeling threatened. This can be minimized if the woman is super confident in herself and in her relationship. When I think of jealousy what comes to mind is someone mistrusting to the point that they need to be in your face and in your business at all times. Possessiveness that is not rationally justified. I once was flattered by a very jealous lover until I realized the he was just insecure because he himself was dishonest. By being jealous and going out of his way to try and 'catch me out there", he was just attempting to justify to himself why it was okay for him to be dishonest in the first place. The logic is circular, I know. But a jealous person is insecure and for the most part cannot and should not be trusted. Why expend the energy, they obviously do not trust you.

Some people are just nuts. But if we're talking about normal jealousy, as much as I hate to admit it, I'd have to say we women get more jealous.

Jealosy is often a function of self-insecurity. One who is overly jealous in a relationship should first examine the root of these feelings. One may find that they themselves are having thoughts of infidelity, hence their 'lack of trust' in the other person. In short, the jealous person is merely reflecting their internal guilt on the other person. The subconcious thought in this jealous person's mind is "If I'm not loyal, neither is my partner".
