Of course, my question requires some imagination. But I think being a telepath would be like opening pandora's box. You'd be privy to vast knowledge, but you wouldn't like everything you find. So I'm undecided about it.

Some people beleive they have some sort of ESP. If you're one of them, tell me about your experience with that.

Have you ever seen the movie "what women want" with Mel Gibson. It was a great movie of an egotistical bachelor who thinks way too much of himself. When he can hear what women are thinking he discovers that they all think he is a putz. So, I think it would definately be a reality check to keep your self inline. And yes, you would know if somebody was telling a lie or being honest. And yes, you could definately get some mega knowledge you're not suppose to but I think that is toooo much pressure for one person to handle.

Remember the Mel Gibson movie?
"What Women Want." He could hear what women were thinking.
I know I wouldn't want to know what anybody was thinking, because of all the misery in the world. It would drive you crazy!
Yes, I believe that sometimes I have ESP about numbers. When somebody is telling me something, I almost always can think of the number they are going to tell me before they say it in their conversation. For instance, they will say something happened in the year 1978, and I will have guessed it before they say it. I don't even tell people about it anymore, but it is a fun game to keep in my head.

No, you shouldn't want to know other people's thoughts. There is a great Robert Silverberg book on this subject called "Dying Inside" that pretty much covers it.

I myself have some talent at spotting patterns of thought and guessing what people will do. I'm quite good at it. There is a horrific price for this -- I never had a good career, I never got married and I never had any children.

"Ask to know no more," as the witches hissed to MacBeth.

Our thoughts are private and sometimes not even under our control. We have good reasons for not saying everything we think. So, though there could be some benefit on rare ocasions to knowing another's thoughts, this would not be good on a routine basis. Kind of like other forms of spying.

I think it is best to know if i could, cause
there will be a whole lot easier to clear up any misunderstandings in between.Besides it will end up a lot of misery having to doubt the other person thoughts about you.......but a contradicting fact is, life will be meaningless to you, cause everything seems easy to get and you understands almost everything without having to drill the facts your own.

I don't have ESP. I would definitely want to know people's thoughts but I'd need a thicker skin. It would be great to always know when people are lying. But yeah I think you'd get disillusioned with humanity very quickly.

ooo I love this kind of stuff! I think it's pretty cool that you ask this question!

I don't know though. I don't think I want to know some of the things other people are thinking, but on the other hand....that would be so cool! haha. I'm like you, undecided. Maybe be able to do for one day.....?

With certain people yes. But I would want it to be an optional thing, like I could turn it off or on. I don't think I could deal with it if it was a contant thing. I'd more want it to know whether I was being lied to.
