i sold chevrolets & gmc for 20 years from 1985-2005
chevy truck honor club, chevy legion of leaders sales recognition
clubs an exclusive recognition for their top sellers.
so... here goes:
no, it wont, but just two or three wires. & about 65.00 labor, plus the part. ( electronic brake)
you need an electric trailer brake installed under the dash. but go to a gm or chev service dept, or a reputable rv sales & service facility.the truck has anti-lock brakes, use a trained gm service professional. that way. you'll get a free warranty on labor & parts. it's an expensive truck. don't cut corners or take chances. trailer towing is serious business.
hope this helps

Yes. It also operates the back up lights and charges the RV battery, too. On a "flat 4" plug, the wires only go to the turn, stop, and tail/running/license lights. On the "RV" plug, ( single round center pin, and 6 outer flat pins,) the other 3 go to the battery on the trailer, back up lights on the trailer, and the electric trailer brakes. The wiring is standardized, so be sure to connect the correct colored wire to the correct pin.
The trailer brake controller only operates the trailer brakes.
The battery on your RV will be charged by the alternator in
your truck. Be sure there as a battery isolator under the
hood so you don't overcharge the battery in the trailer, or
over amp your alternator and burn it out.

no, not unless trailer brakes have been installed in the cab and be separated from the trailer lights.... unless there is a couple wires on the other side of that plug that are open wires then yes that can be used along with your trailer brakes

Depends on how your wire it up. Get a manual at local autoparts store.
