And what is the difference between an annullment and a divorce. I do not have very much cash and the relationship was abusive.

An annullment basically wipes the marriage off the books, it's as if it never even existed. But unlike a divorce, I believe it requires consent, and if he's an abuser, you probably won't get it. So you'll just have to go for the divorce.

If you were physically abused, go to a local women's shelter, they will probably have some contacts that will do the divorce pro bono (for free) for you.

Try call a justice of the peace court near you and ask if you can get it done there. You have I think up to six months to get an annulment. A divorce is if you were married for more than six months or longer but I'm not positive if that is right.

An annullment means the marriage was null and void and after it is over, you were never legally married

Look it up on google to find out more

Go to libary and ask librarian for help as to how to get your own divorce or annulment or go to an attorney if you can afford one

An annullment you don't have to pay for and it just says that you guys tried it and it's not working out! The divorce is something you have to pay for!!

I think if you can prove that the person that you married had an alterior motive in mind when he married you you may be able to have it annuled. It is also cheaper than a divorce.

Divorce requires seperation of marital property. Annullment sets you back from where you started.

go to your local court house and ask to see a clerk of courts. explain your situation and ask for a time to see a judge who may be able to annul your marriage .you may need a solicitor and if you are genuinely without money the court will provide a solicitor for you free of charge

Go to your local court house, ask them, tell them WHY your requesting papers for divorce and I think then they will decide between the difference.

Sorry it didn't work out for you and your partner. Hope it does the next time, and get a good head on your shoulders the next time.
