I am wondering if I have to have a liscense of some sort to sell advertisement space on my website? If so, can you please provide your source for your answer? Thank you so much!

License, no, but you may want to keep track of how much you "make"- even though it will more than likely fall well below the IRS's reportable limits, and your ISP costs would probibly outway them anyways- resulting in a net loss- thus you could really write your website off on your taxes...

If you have a very sucessfull wesite, you will more than likely have an assumed name- filed locally with your county clerk like any other business, and be doing the extra forms on your taxes...

You should be able to place as many ads as you wish. Read the terms of service for your host. Unless the host expressly forbids commercial use of their services, you will be free to rake in the ad revenue.
