Still whining after all these years?
No doubt that USC won the game at ND, but it was close enough to prove that USC was not in"vince"able.

While Ohio State has a mostly very talented and awesome team, one of the most critical parts of the team is horrible-the Offensive Line. They have good quarterbacks and running backs and receivers, but that doesn't matter if the QB gets sacked in 2 seconds or the RB doesn't get any pockets to run itnto. If they have a good offensive line, they win the last year championchip and are headed there this year. But they don't, and for that reason Boise should be given the chance. Though I'd like to see either an OSU and Utah/Boise matchup. That'd be sweet I think. I wouldn't say the Big 10 is down that far this year though. Penn St. and Ohio St., both of which are among the best in the nation. Michigan St, Northwestrn, and Minnesota that are solid teams, Illinois which can either be horrible or the most dominant team out there. Iowa is in the same league as Ole Miss, both very good teams, but their records don't reflect how good they are due to some mishaps and close games. And of course, Michigan... the lol team of the year.

I don't think SC has a shot a tthe title this year (and I'm an alum/fan), they're just too young and lost too many players. However, they have a proven coaching staff and definite talent, so I think they will remain a difficult team to beat.
All this talk about how weak the pac-10 defense is really gets old. Sure, the pc-10 is known for stronger offense, but SC's defense was one of the best in the nation in 2005 (do you remember the 55-19 stomping of OU in the Orange Bowl, I sure do, I was there). They held the supposed 'best running back' and heisman QB to a worse than mediocre day, totally shutting down the OU offense.
Last year the pac-10 finished with 4 teams in the top 25 (SC, Oregon, UCLA, Cal), not the most difficult, but not exactly a cakewalk either.

I wouldn't be so arrogant. National Championship teams don't get 40 points hung on them, regardless of outcome. Sure, USC had a supercharged offense. However, if USC were playing the week-in, week-out meatgrinder schedules you find in the Big Ten, the SEC, or the ACC, then you would have taken a hit sometime during the year. And this year, I wouldn't lay odds on you returning to the BCS championship this year.

Of course. Ohio State, Notre Dame and LSU all have a shot at beating USC. SC lost Bush, White, Byrd, Leinart, Justice, Bing, just to name a few, they could lose two games this year. LSU is not as strong as Ohio State and Notre Dame, but they are both stacked. Quinn, Walker, Samardzija on the Irish. Ginn Jr, Smith, and Pittman. USC will not be in the national championship, and if they are, they will lose to one of these teams.

Michigan has the most talent, but also the worst coach. If Loyd Carr and Michigan were to play USC and Carr did just an average job, Michigan wins.
Plus my dead Grandma could win 10 games in the weak PAC 10. How about USC playing a real schedule not cream puff central.

What are you crying about? USC shared one title in '04, and won it outright in '05. They lost. Get over it. They won't win one this year. It belongs to Ohio State (if they have a defense).
