I love it! We used to go camping with my parents and granparents every summer. We used to caravan across the country and camped in great places, like Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon and even through Canada one summer. I miss those days. And when you go camping you meet the friendliest people at campgrounds. When people get away from the fast paced distractions of every day life in the big city, they become more mellow and and sociable and alot more polite to each other. Plus, my brother and sisters and I aquired an appreciation for nature at an early age. And for those folks who think camping is awful because you have to rough it, there are alot of more commercialzed campgrounds out there. KOA for example is full of ammenties, like hot showers, a nice pool, and many of them have a lounge area with a game rooms and even TVs so you don't have to feel completely cut off from the world.

I go camping once a year and I must admit I'm not very good at it - I wouldn't say I detest it tho cuz I still go once a year
Aside from all the work and responsibility of it (and the inconvenience of trying to get a shower in the am), it can be a lot of fun!

I love it. It is a good way to spend quality time with the family. I have fond memories of camping on island beaches in the middle of the Mississippi River with my parents and brothers. It is a lot of work to get ready to go and the clean up after words, but the memories that were created in the middle are priceless. I do not believe you can get that kind of quality family time at the Ritz Carlton.
Given the choice of a five star luxury hotel and camping....hmm.....camping any day of the week.

I really enjoy camping!!! As a family that is our favorite get away. My kids love it. They can camp for two weeks and beg to go again. When we travel on vacation, we love to pack a tent and ruff it. You can stay at some really nice campgrounds for a fraction of the cost of a nice motel and have some really nice memories. Nothing like sitting around a campfire roasting hotdogs and eating smores. When a raccoon comes up to your site, maybe evena deer will run thru, so exciting! You'll remember it forever!

I honestly detest camping. I just don't get it, the whole idea? What's the point of packing up your belongings, cooking over a fire, sitting around in dirt, and pretending to be homeless?
Nope, I truly don't care for camping.

Camping is great if done right. Hike out about 5 miles or so to a remote area. Cook your own food, camp fire to heat and oriffy your water, sleeping under the stars, no trailer or cabin. Camping is a great way to take a reality check

I do like camping. Every individual has their preference of what they like. As you get older you want more comfort in camping which basically means going from tent camping to RV camping. Yes camping is not as comfortable as a hotel but you are missing the real fun such as camp fire, the stories, the night sky and etc...

Depends on how you camp.
I sincerely enjoy getting way up in the Rockies. Away from all the humans. Listening to the sounds of the breeze in the trees. Watching the dragonflies, birds, chipmunks and squirrels move about.
Seeing the stars shine with so much clarity each night is wonderful. Then, sometimes, being amazed by the Aurora Borealis shimmering in the distance.
What's not to like or love?

Can't stand it. A friend goes all the time. He loads up his SUV with everything he can get his hands on and then when he comes back, I hear all about the sunburns, poison ivy, mosquito bites, etc. All for what? The glorious outdoors? Too much work and bother just to live in the woods for a weekend. As Eva Douglas said, "I just adore a penthouse view."
