Yes it sound like a mucus plug.Sometimes its clear or sometimes blood stained. It's completely normal and it could happen even one week before your labor actualy starts.
You don't need to contact your doctor because there is nothing wrong it's just comes away and your body is preparing for the birth.Good luck and quick labor

My OB might be inept, but I had something similar, only it was streaked a little with blood, and she assured me that it wasn't my mucus plug, just regular mucus. I had the same that was bloody later, a midwife asked if I'd had any more and I told her I had something that seemed like it only it was white/clear with only a tiny streak and she said it was cause to be cautious. So I dunno what to tell ya. I've had what you describe since about 20 weeks, btw, had the bloody stuff at 27 weeks, and am now 31 weeks and just had what you described a few days ago (well, not in the toilet, but when I wiped). I'm not talking small, either, but like larger than a quarter and really thick.

I had that happen- 5 times in my one pregnancy! Yes, it's A mucus plug, but probably not THE mucus plug. No, it probably won't mean you'll be in labor tomorrow, unless it is blood-streaked and around the size of your big toe. And it can grow back, only to be lost again. This is what my midwife told me. And it was very accurate info in my case.
So... big booger, white or yellow? Not likely.
For everyone else reading this question who has no idea what we're talking about...
Gross, yes, but so is Childbirth. Poo, pee, blood and slime everywhere. Soorrrry. It's still the most amazing and beautiful experience of a woman's entire life. You need to get over it.

It's usually a great big gelatinous goop that comes out, and it's often slightly tinged brown or with blood (not a lot of blood though). Mine always came out in a big glop, and then I would continue to shed some more until the onset of labor. But this could definitely be beginning of labor for you! Hang in there mama, not too much longer!

with my 1st baby I noticed blood when going to toilet but it was only slight though, that lasted a few days no mucus though.
With my second I went to the toilet the day before due date and on toilet paper after wiping was the plug which looked like an egg. It was yucky, was good thing I knew what it was or would've probably freaked out. She was born approx 6hrs afterwards

hi,
well never heard of losing parts of the so called mucus plug!! but....when I lost mine it didn't look like snot...looking anything..lol.
From my pregnancy I just started bleeding...and then before that (like just a couple of hours) in the wee A.M. and spots of blood . I called the dr. and said it was my mucus plug. (he said a different name but i dont' remember) anyway....I was told that I would give birth RIGHT NOW...OR in 2 Weeks...
I hung up the phone and then took a shower with this information and then after my shower my water broke...(thank god with hubby he was there) but my point is....once you are bleeding ....Call the Dr. call they are open 247 and they are there for you ...that is their job
Anway... I hope I helped..not really sure I did! lol but sounds like you are going into labor...are you having contractions? back pain...etc? Call Your Dr. girl and God Bless you and your new lil one that is going to come into th is world!!!

as icky because it sounds, it may be faded white, yellow, inexperienced or the entire above. Just like mucous. Dont freak out despite the fact that, it is flawlessly average. Some will even be tinged w/a bit of of blood. All very average...you can be going into hard work at any place from two days to two weeks. Good good fortune to you!!

If I was you I would be prepared to go to the hospital. My mother had seven children and every time she lost her plug she went into labor the same day. I however lost mine and didn't go into labor but I found out later that the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby's neck and he couldn't come down so labor never progressed.

When I lost mine, it looked like a big clearish snot wad with blood streaks in it. I'm sure it can be different with everyone, so you're probably getting close. Congrats on the baby!

I have never lost the mucus plug, but that sounds like it could be what it is. I would call the doc office and see what they say about it.
