why do restaurants not let you know that they have free chewing gum under the table top. that's the first?

thing i go for when i dine out. its absolutly delicious!

I just left it there because I figured I would get charged for it.

Yes it is gross! I work in the restaurant business as a server. I can't tell you how disgusting it is to scrap it off! We try to take care of that issue nightly but sometime we can't. Sorry for the inconvenience! Trust me, it's no picnic!
