Surfing has been a major sport for nearly a thousand years in Hawai'i. It is a form of sport, and personal endurance. Religion is the dependance on a ficticious entity. Surfing is a way of life.

Sure, the location is not the key, If you feel that surfing in some way connects you or brings you closer to the God you worship, then it is concidered as such. People will say no becosue it isn't to them and are nerrow minded, unable to see othere point of view.

I've never tried it, but think that it would definitely rate as something that would have a spiritual impact on your soul! Kind of like skydiving or mountain climbing.
