no you dont need a credit card microsoft made it to where if you dont have a credit card then you buy the 3month, 6 month, or 12month subscription. just enter the code on the card you bought and go on from there when time expires then get another. thats how microsoft is making there money back on the console cost......Feel Sorry For Playstation 3 $600 bucks (WOW) total loss......Xbox 360 is the way to go......just check out all the games that are going to release soon there awsome Call of Duty 3 to name on Halo 3 also hope this is helpfull
