i am really, really interested in joining a ballroom dance studio (doing mambo or viennese waltz) and i called arthur murray but they don't have a class for my age (under 21), but they said they might be forming one. does anyone know of a studio in charlotte that has classes for under 21's? because most competitive dancers (which i hope to be soon) get started younger than 21.

Whatever you do, DO NOT go to a chain studio like Arthur Murray, unless you want to be conned out of thousands and thousands of dollars and still be stuck at bronze level.

Why don't you check out www.ballroomdancers.com or www.dancescape.com and look for a studio or teacher near you. There are tons of kids out there - mine included - who are under 21 and dance. I started both my kids when they were 3 years old. They are now top level ballroom competitors.
