I have many Asian friends and they are focused on their studies and entertainment is not a way to success for them. It is frowned upon in certain Asian cultures.
However, in the Filipino culture, while many choose to take the route of nursing and other health related occupations, the entertainment business is not as frowned upon. In fact, there are many Filipinos in television (Dante Basco, Vanessa Minnillo, Lou Diamond Phillips) .
However, many people do not want to acknowledge that Filipinos are Asians (Chinese and Japanese people are not the only type of Asian).
It will be a while before Asians become as strong of a force as Hispanics, but I think it is possible as long as attitudes change in the culture.

Asians get hated on by everybody. Don't you know that by now? Caucausons today don't like the fact that Asians are smarter, work harder and risk takers that become successful in what they do. I'm sure there are many Asians that want to be in the entertainment industry but who is going to promote them.
Lucy Lu is the only Asian I see that has really made it. And even she doesn't get roles that really show her potential.
I think your question is why aren't there more Asian Americans in the American Entertainment industry because, Asians are in the entertainment industry but they come from other countries like Zyhang Ziyi or John Woo or Jet Li. They are all foreigners who are from other countries.
Where are Asian connections in Hollywood? Do you see Asians acting in broadway? Do Asians have a budget to make a film or are they busy playing mahjong? Or are they busy suping up their hondas?
Asain teenagers are more concerned with cars, girls, technology, drugs than they are in making it big in the film industry. How many E heads are willing to get in front of the stage and act for a performance?
If its a rave maybe they'll be there before anybody but if it's an audition, they're ghost..

Much as why no other ethnic group is included in American Entertainment. Asians and other groups have a very hard time getting into the American Industry for a lot of reasons i will not mention. But I can say is that when you think of an American TV show or a movie, what comes to most people is that it involve American actors in leading roles and often that is the norm. A change of that will be hard for American viewers to swallow as it is something they are not used to. I stand corrected if there is one American TV show or movie with a non-american cast that is as popular as 24 or Pirates of The Carribean.

Because you are far too interested in more entertaining and fulfilling activities than acting, which requires having no personality, a big ego, and a life-long lust for popularity and money.

according to my mom, all of us asian's kids are pretty tamed, meaning we're taught to get good, decent, prestigious careers. ex. doctor. i agree with you tho, there should be more asian's in the entertainment business instead of the health. lol my sister and cousin want to be "rock stars" so who know's if they'll be one of the few asians in hollywood.
