There hasn't been a good "new" song in forever.
For older songs, however, it's difficult to say anything other than the song that has been voted the greatest rock-n-roll song of all time for the past 30 years:
"Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.

One of the best "new" songs I've heard is "Judas Rising" by Judas Priest, off their 2005 release "Angel of Retribution." The song "Angel" (same album) is also very good.
My all-time favorite is "Desert Plains" by Judas Priest.

this song called "Tim McGraw" by Taylor Swift..
cause i can really relate to it,, I know it seems like it is going to be a song about she loves Tim McGraw & he was a little boy his dad was a baseball player and now he's a superstar and married to Faith Hill. It's nothing like that. It's about this couple falling in love because of a Tim McGraw song.& how they will always think of each other when they hear one. aint that sweet??...lol!!! She wrote this song herself. When she comes out you all will love her. She is only 16 years old!
