I lived in both, and both have their pros and cons. I grew up in the suburbs, but moved to the heart of chicago for a few years. While I love city life, nothing has compared to being able to go outside at night and seeing all the stars.
Then again, in the city, you don't have to worry about everyone gossiping about you all the time.
So I guess living in the city, as long as there are tons of breaks to the suburbs :-)

I like the burbs, because you can have the peace and you're close to the city when you want to party.
