I would say Saturday is best, people are off work, and the ones that frequent garage sales are up at the crack of dawn on saturdays just to get all the good ones first.

People get paid on Friday, so Saturday is good for a garage or yard sale.

Saturdays and Sundays are predominately the best, although with school out you could be successful, with the proper signage, anyday of the week. Make sure you post signs VISIBLE to major areas of traffic, in grocery stores, and anywhere else with a bulletin board (Walmart, too.)

Saturdays and sundays but, you should wake up early and be sure to have quality advertising. I ran an add in the paper and made 600.00 dollars in two days good luck! Start high then lower it I did great....
