If you have 96 MB it sounds like you have a 64 MB stick and a 32 MB stick. I would take them both out and replace with the biggest stick or sticks your board supports.

Y yes it is but the 128mb memory PC100 is very slow and not worth it unless it the only financillly available but the answer to your Q is turn off the PC power via switch in back then unplug the big black cord in back. Then remove your side panel. On the motherboard (or the biggest thing in your PC) you should see some slots that come in pairs that are colored right by the CPU. Take your memory module out of its anti-static bag and hold it gently by the edges. Line up the notch on the bottom of your new memory module with the empty memory slot and press the new module down with your thumbs until the pins rest snugly inside the slot. You may have to exert some pressure! When will hear a click when the memory module is installed correctly. Then attach the clamps on the side of the new memory. Finally rebuild you PC backwards from how you took it apart and ur done!!!

well, that's not actually a memory drive, that's a ram chip, and, no, they're not hard to install.. If you don't have the manual that came with your puter, go to the webpage for the maker and search for the users guide. It should tell you how to install it.

It's about the easiest thing on a computer to upgrade. It only fits in one way and it just plugs straight in. Not hard at all.
