I have heard that a day is enough to visit Salem. I live about 8 hrs away... so I would like to spend more than a day. Is there enough to do?

I suppose if you wanted to start at one end and run through Salem, it might take you just one day, but to truly enjoy the experience, one would take the city leisurely.

A day is plenty. The House of Seven Gables and some of the maritime history stuff is worth seeing. The Witchcraft museums are overly touristy.

I think there are nicer towns up the coast from Salem actually.

I think a day is enough to see Salem if you need other things to do cruise up to Gloucester and Cape Ann
