I need to write a paper for school, I can't get my Microsoft Word to work. Can someone tell me how?

I will click on an icon to get started on my paper and it will turn to the hour glass and that's it. It will tell me the program is not responding.

try opening a word document directly. If it opens this way, but not when you click on the program, then likely the normal.dot template is damaged or corrupt.

I don't know what's wrong wiht it so I can't tell you how to fix it. Try this, type it into notepad or Microsoft Works. Worst case scenario, just type it into your compose e-mail thing and print it using Word at the library or something.

maybe u should wait a while and see what turns up or you have a virus which is making u're computer extremely slow

is it just the word icon that isnt working?
use wordpad or notepad
