The very poisonous snake, the black mamba is so called as the inside of its mouth is very black. It is a very fast snake that rises up more than four and a half to five feet high into the air as it speeds along. It is very aggresive and a large adult has enough extrememly toxic venom to easily kill 8 or more people in one attack. The whole inside of the mouth is dark black and the tongue is relatively small in comparison. I'm not sure of the tongues colour but it would be barely noticeable with the mouth as a background.

d.
p.s. The giraffe's tongue is bright blue. Check Wikkipedia to verify that information.

Giraffes and Okapis both have black tongues. Some Monitors, a kind of large lizard, and some Cows have black tongues.

I'm sure there are other animals with black tongues as well, (perhaps Zebras?) but anyway, these are a few animals that have black tongues and are not generally pets...

The Chow, native to China. Additionally, some breeds of Shar'Peis have dark purple tongues that appear black.

Additionally, if you are looking for non-pets, the giraffe and polar bear both have black tongues.

A dog breed that has black tongues are chows. Many cows have black or black-and-white-spotted tongues. Other dog breeds also have black tongues, but I can't think of them. You might call a veterinary and ask. Go to the horse's mouth, so to speak.
