I say go for it. For teens, expression through appearance is very important. I don't know why adults have to rain on their parades about that...I mean, painting your fingernails black is nothing...you could be out there in a gang or shoplifting or prostituting or anything else scandalous. Painting your nails is nothing. Have fun and feel free to express yourself!

There is nothing wrong with expressing your own personal style, regardless of whether or not it has a label. And for the record, painting your nails black does not mean that you are goth. Be proud of your own style; wear those black nails with pride!

Obviously you care what other people think about your appearance, or else you wouldn't have asked this question.

That's the problem. Stop caring about what other people think, and then you are free to dress whatever way you please.

Oh, and it's not "fingure" it's "finger" and it's not "rong" it's "wrong." I'm sure the 'in' was just a typo...

Good luck

Honey, on page 65 of the August issue of Glamour there is an article on that. There is this awesome polish by Chanel called Black Satin on the page--it has very very subtle shimmer in it. It only looks good on short nails, though. On long nails black is skanky.

Nothing wrong. It is your style and you preferences. It is totally ok, not violating any laws or regulations.

However, if the person is on pregnancy or some long term sickness, it is advised not to put on any colour on the finger nails, cause your nails colour is a clue, telling the doctor how healty or not healty you are.

I actually read in Cosmo that it is ok as long as your fingernails are cut short, if your nails are too long it will look Halloweenish. It's actually a trend in Hollywood apparently, good job! Keira Knightley was sporting black nail polish in one of the pictures.

Do YOU think there is something wrong? If not, don't worry about it. It's a little form of rebellion and gets attention, but we all do things like that on occasion. If your nails are short and well shaped, it looks cool to me.
