if u don't like the idea of killing them like me, get a cage trap and set it then put them in the shelter or release them far far away.

OK - your dealing with a Mother & her babies...So she doesn't want to leave until they can. So a live trap is not a good idea because your going to trap the mother and no her babies. And if she can't get back to them - they will die, and your going to have a stinky mess on your hands in a few days. SO!! here is my suggestion - if you or a friend has a dog, get a open can of dog food place it where she can smell it and where she may be able to relocate her young. If you repeat this for a few days, she'll get the message and move OUT! BUT!! even when she does... just to make sure she doesn't come back...go near the new place and put another can of dog food there for another few days.

Oppossum generally don't have rabies, but they are carion eaters and therefore have filthy mouths. Any bite you get from encountering one of them would likely result in a horribly nasty infection. Although they will sometimes "play dead" oppossum can be very, very mean if they feel they are cornered (especially the mothers). I almost lost a cat to an infection caused by an oppossum bite to his ear.
Contact your local animal control officer (associated with the health department, police department, or parks department usually). If none of those agencies says they will take care of the problem, ask them who to call. They may suggest a commercial (meaning someone has to pay them) nuisance animal control service (in the yellow pages).
Do you own your mobile home? If you are renting, contact your landlord. They could be responsible for the cost of getting rid of them.
Good luck.

They are really not good to have in your home. We allowed one to live under our mobile home. And do we ever regret it. It drug in some dead carcasses, it defecated all over underneath, and it took almost 2 months for the horrible smell to go away. We could not find anyone to help remove it or help remove the dead carcasses under the house. Good luck getting rid of them. Don't give up. We were able to simply board up the openings under our house. It was a big one, so it couldn't get back in. At any rate, they have GOT to go. And contrary to one of your answerers, they will not leave on their own. If they think your home is a good place to be, they'll keep returning.

Get Have-a-heart trap(s) and set them during the night. The will go in for food and then you can release them FAR away from the house!!!
Or you can call a professional.
Rabies is a concern is possums. Ask you local animal control.

Get a dog! Borrow one from a friend or neighbor. They will play "possum" or play dead -- you can pick them up by the tail and put them in a pet carrier or something and carry them way out into the country and let them go or call Animal Control.

Don't call animal control unless they guarantee they won't be euthanized. Call your local humane society for the number of a wildlife rehabilitator. The wildlife rehabber can advise you or even trap and take the mom and babies.

Man, I hate when that happens. Seriously. Its horrible. You have to either kill them (which I don't like) or when you catch one take it to a wild life sanctuary. Or if the babies are big enough take them way, way, way away to let them go, cause them things will find their way back. Use good strong wood or brick or metal to block the hole so they can't come back in. I'm serious, they are mean so watch out, and they will find their way back if you drop them off to close.

If you call your local animal control they will probably leave you some traps to use. I had a similar problem with raccoons in my attic. They will leave you some traps, and after the animals are trapped you call them back and they will come and get them.

Dont panic, they wont hurt you. And opossums are marsupials; their body temperture is too low to support the rabies virus.
Take some cute pictures and enjoy them. They'll move out soon.
