Get ready for some major traffic jams. I grew up in Dallas. It is a great place to live.
The suburbs in North Dallas are the best places to live and work.
Good luck.

I am from California and moved here 2 years ago...It is much more affordable!!! And the people are much nicer. I would stick to the Northern suburbs of Dallas and Fort Worth...I live in North Richland Hills and we love it here. Some other nice cities are Keller, Colleyville, Grapevine, Bedford, Southlake, Flowermound, Plano. Stay away from Dallas, Oak Cliff, Arlington, Irving, Mansfield.
Good luck with the move!

This is going to sound as though I'm being a smart-***, but I'm not. Just leave California behind. Texas is totally different and a heck of a lot slower, even in the large cities. Be ready to find a different way of speaking and thinking, as well as living. Enjoy it and forget about everything California.

I have lived in Texas all my life! I love it. I am in the Fort Worth area and I will tell you that some parts of Dallas is Awsome, and other parts are Ghetto! Stay away from Oak Cliff and you will be okay.
Get ready because it is hot here! And the Hottest month is August and September! Ande the humidity is way worse! Be prepared! Welcome to Texas!

Learn to like the Dallas Cowboys (whom I loathe)
Go eat at What a Burger
Good luck
I hate Texas and have no reason to do so but I do. I guess it was this Texas dude in school that was so overbearing he turned me against the state

If you have teenagers, get there drivers license before leaving Ca. Texas has new rule that a parent has to have a Texas license for three years before you can teach your own kids how to drive.

Don't move here. Texas sucks, all of Texas sucks. It's especially hot in North Texas, and you will get allergy problems too. You're going to hate it if you come here.
