Hi..
"Lemony Snicket's" " A Series of Unfortunate Events"
December 17, 2004 ..Release Date..
>>>>>>
Since the publication of the first installment in Lemony Snicket's (a k a Daniel Handler's) charmingly malignant book cycle, "A Series of Unfortunate Events," the three Baudelaire children...Violet, Klaus and Sunny ,... have been trying to find safe harbor in a world fraught with danger.... For 11 consecutive books, the children have passed from the care of one well-intentioned adult after another, braving the sort of peril usually faced by silent-screen heroines named "Pauline".. and leaving a trail of corpses in their wake... To date, the cause of their misfortunes has been their onetime guardian, Count Olaf, who hopes to steal their fortun...e. But now the characters have embarked on one of the most dangerous adventures known in literature: their story has been turned into a major Hollywood movie... and with Jim Carrey, no less. "A Series of Unfortunate Events".. suffers from one of the most grievous maladies.. that can strike a children's film, notably a regrettable tendency to fill in all the quiet with noise... Mr. Carrey's loud, showboating performance is the worst offender in this regard....

British thespian Timothy Spall is to share the screen with no less than Jim Carrey, Meryl Streep and Jude Law in the adaptation of children‘s book, "Lemony Snicket: A Series of Unfortunate Events." ....
>>>>>>

Known this side of the pond for his hangdog roles in Mike Leigh films and his turn in the TV series "Auf Wiedersehen Pet," Spall is proving a big hit in Hollywood.... Not only will he appear opposite Tom Cruise in upcoming period flick "The Last Samurai" but will also join Harry and friends on screen next summer as Peter Pettigrew in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."

In "Lemony Snicket," Spall will portray Mr Poe, the rather useless guardian of the movie‘s three central characters, the Baudelaire orphans, who learn that their evil relative Count Olaf – played by Jim Carrey – is after the enormous fortune left to them by their parents and will commit any crime to get his grubby hands on it... Filming on the pic is scheduled to kick off next week in Los Angeles....
