...I'm really not trying to be mean, so don't take this the wrong way, but... did you even read what you just wrote? Seriously... look at the groups you listed.
You've got your poppy-punk crap, you've got your wannabe hard rockers, you've got your ridiculous rap (which I still don't know why they classify rap as a musical genre) and you have more poppy-punk crap. And yes, people have heard of Less Than Jake (please do not think that you just stumbled across a band that no one has ever heard of - mainly because I'm sure you heard it off of the radio).
My advice to you (and since this is Yahoo! Answers, you are asking for my opinion). Do yourself a favor and stick some dynamite inside your radio. This will then force you to find music through other avenues and not have to listen to the crap that is always filtered through the radio. The radio stations only play what they want you to hear, and that is only a fraction of a percent of the music that is out there. It really pisses me off when groups like The Pussycat Dolls (who are a bunch of no-talent *** clowns) can make millions of dollars off of songs that they do not even write themselves, but a very talented unknown band has to struggle to make it because people won't listen to their music. If you follow my advice I guarantee that you will have a much better relationship with music, and you might even find a band that will change your life...
By the way... Panic! At the Disco sucks major balls...

One of my favourite bands, Canned Heat, honestly did that on "Down within the Gutter however Free" from their "Hallelujah" album. Larry "The Mole" Taylor, the bass participant, and Henry "Sunflower/Wild Man" Vestine, the lead guitarist, switched devices. On an additional tune, "Big Fat," Bob "The Bear" Hite performed harp, which used to be probably performed through Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson, the opposite vocalist, who used to be additionally a rhythm guitarist. (He additionally performed it normally after Wilson OD'd in 1970.) Taylor's lead used to be spectacular sufficient to advantage an "OW!" close the establishing of the tune. The drummer, Adolfo "Fito" de los angeles Parra, is the one present member who is going again to the 60's (even though no longer the common lineup), and besides for Larry Taylor and Harvey Mandel, is the one steady member who remains to be alive. When I heard the band at Blues Alley in 1991, he sang each Wilson's and Hite's components convincingly!
