Well, if you get one, you will be looking to get rid of it soon after. They do not make good pets!!!! They scratch, bite, throw poo, throw "other bodily fluids", and can be very destructive!!!!
That is why they are illegal in many states!!!!!!

Do you value any potential free time that you have, an overall sense of peace and well-being, a safe, clean home and all that is good and holy? Then for all the money in the world don't get a pet monkey! They are into e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g 24 hrs a day practically. If you really want a super-exotic pet like that, try a kinkajou.

Monkeys make horrible bets...they are wild animals and can be quite destructive, and agressive. They poop and pee ALL over the place, need lots of attention and cost a lot of money to maintain and care for. If you don't even know WHERE to buy one than you obviously have not done ANY research on what it takes to own one. Besides, in most states you cannot own a monkey unless you have a special permit as they are illegal to own as pets...BECAUSE THEY ARE WILD ANIMALS. Get a dog or a cat.

Monkeys are partially banned in Tennessee.
Are you sure you want him to get one?
Please check out this website, pay particular attention to Articles/Info and Testimonials and watch the PowerPoint presentation too, please. I think you'll find that getting a non-human primate is not only expensive, anywhere from $1500 to over $30 000, but extremely difficult and sometimes painful and generally a bad idea.
This website also shows which states allow primates and the states that require special permits.
Please think it over long and hard and then get a dog.

Oh, be advised that some of the pictures on the site are a bit graphic, but they are real and I believe a picture says more than a thousand words. Good luck to you!

I think you'll need a permit as they tend to be better off in zoos or the wild.
