For the past 2 years I have been attending Bowie State, a college that I absolutely hate. I am also enrolled for fall 2006, but I did not reapply for housing, so there will probably not be any space available for me on campus, and the apartments in that area are are so expensive that is not even an option for me. So unless I can get in a dorm on campus then I will have nowhere at all to stay. There is also no cable in the dorms. And I fell like I have to avoid the band because I was in it for awhile then I quit without telling anyone because I found that I did not have the time to dedicate to it. And I find it so hard to trust people there, so I just keep to myself and do my own thing and generally don't even speak unless necessary. I don't care that I hate the college, and the things I do do not bother me. Sure I do wish I was in a college I liked, but the fact that I am not does not bother me. But I just wonder if I should even be there if I don't like it, even if I don't mind it.

You sound very confused and immature.
You are 20 years old and I bet mommy is paying for
college and other stuff too.
Take time off school, get a job and think about
what YOU really want to do. Then, if school still
looks good - go ahead and sign up for a college
YOU want to go to. Start making your own
decisions. It is your life, make it what you want
it to be.
You are still mommy's little girl - but you are
growing up pretty fast and mommy and her
friend should let you spread your wings and
give you the freedom to be yourself.

Do you hate it or not mind it? lol. How about asking to be transferred to a different school for a year.. most universities have fellow schools that they transfer with for the experience. At your uni there will be some sort of guidance counsellor who will have a list of options for you. All coudos for sticking it out this long... but perhaps if you were in a more beneficial environment you may excel in your classes. Look into it.

Why stay where you are unhappy? "Not minding it" is just allowing yourself to settle. I transferred from what I thought was my top choice - it sucked there.

You should still have plenty of time to get in for the Winter/Spring semester at most schools, unless they have rolling admission for the Fall and then you could get out of BS even more quickly. You could even take a semester off and see what other schools you might prefer.

Why are you still attending that school. Are there other schools closer to home where you could commute and still work toward your objectives?

Are you clear about your objectives in life? Might need a break (travel and work) and then come back more mature and with a goal.

If you hate college, you probably won't do very well. Plus, you'll be in debt when you get out. It's your call, but you may want to pursue other options.

Well, you can transfer to a school that you prefer possibly, if that would be an option for you. Maybe one with at least a DSL line.
