There are issues about the war that are not very clear to most people. Previously, we were told that Israel was returning this land, and then taking that land and the Lebanese were doing this or that. Those issues cloud reasoning and the media makes it worse by being polemic about any event that happens. Most Americans have no concept about the conflict but manage to read only the headlines of the events. Nonetheless, Americans also have a bit of resentment against the Jewish people for dominating various industries and businesses and people enjoy bashing an underdog as many countries did by depriving Israel the means to protect itself, (the US refusing to sell planes, followed by France...perhaps they thought that Israel would be defeated by the Lebanese and Jordanians and the problem would vanish. However perhaps the iron-will of the Israelis, tempered by the holocaust was more than they counted on..The raid on Entebbe came as a surprize to many. The Israelis are no more aggressive than the US but perhaps with a more just cause, the survival of their homeland. War is never nice and while Hollywood makes it look exciting...it's not.

They are murderers protected by the USA! Because they have a problem with Hezbollah, they bomb the entire state of Lebanon and kill numerous innocent people!
For those who do not know: The Hezbollah are NOT Lebanese, but Palestinians who were forcefully evicted in 1947 by the Israeli from their homes in what is now the state of Israel to the refugee camps in Lebanon! Nobody ever asked the Lebanese, if they wanted the Hezbollah there! All what Hezbollah wants is to go back home, to the country that is rightfully theirs, but with the protection and money of the US was transformed into an Israli State!

Once more, with feeling, now. The Israelis are responding to the unprovoked attacks by Hezbollah from within Lebanon. Hezbollah have launched hundreds of rockets into Israeli cities (read that as intentionally targetting civilians). Israel responded with:
First - leaflets indicating where they were going to launch their airstrikes
Second - Airstrikes, assuming that the civilians in the area would have evacuated.
Remember that Hezbollah hide themselves and their equipment in towns and cities.
At this point, all that is open to debate is whether or not the Israeli response is proportional or appropriate.
Lets compare this to a hypothetical: What if a terrorist group gathered up several thousand missiles in Ontario, pointed at upstate NY? What if they launched them into Plattsburgh and Burlington, VT?

Sometimes war, unfortunately, is necessary. If they did not retaliate, then they would be considered weak and open to anyone for attacks. Hezbollah should have left well enough alone. Israel already knew what killers they were and denounced them at the moment they took leadership. Israel tried to keep a peaceful co-existence, but that is hard to do when everyone around you wants you dead.

"... and are still left loose to kill as many innocent children as they want"
Dollface,
If the Israeli Defense Force and its leaders truly wished to kill as many innocent children as they wanted the carnage would be much MUCH worse than what we see. Israel has "smart" weapon technology for the sole purpose of reducing civilian casualties in Lebanon. Heck, I just read a news story that in Gaza they are calling the owners of homes before a bombing raid to ensure that people are moved out.
This whole thing can end quickly. Disarm Hezbollah. Return the captured soldiers. Quit lobbing rockets filled with ball bearings into civilian areas (with the sole purpose of harming civilians).

People get tired of peace after awhile. If you don't like the neighborhood you live in, move away to one where the folks value the same thing as you do.
Its obvious that the kids in the middle east can't afford video games so, they take it to the streets. They will always be at war with a rest between skirmishes. At least, that's the way it has been for as long as I can remember.

There is a lot to consider when you evaluate the conflict in the middle east... but my simple answer is this, Isreal has pretty much been at war with one group or another since 1948...when it was created... they are attacked at all times, and the leadership of those countries that surround it are all madmen. Additionally Sharon has proven himself to be a madman too... he responds to carbombs of dissenters by driving tanks over palestinian communities...
Its just a whole bunch of crazy out there in the middle east and everyone seems to be competing for the prize of "MOST CRAZY" unfortunately the citizens are the ones who suffer the most... Just blame the United Kingdom for how they divided up that whole area and blame the League of Nations for creating Israel.

Most people a threatened by Jews because in their own ignorant way they cannot understand that 1. Jesus was Jewish. Christians "not all" are spending WAY to much time on Saviors and not enough time on ONE GOD the GOD of Christians and Jews! AS far as Islam is concerned these sick bastards believe Allah's message to the world is that if you're lucky enough to murder innocent non Islamic women and children you have sex in heaven with 72 virgins Plus you can beat your wife for fun and blame your miserable existence on "The Jews" Sick evil pricks!

If the enemy launches attacks from civilians, then civilians will die. I will copy & paste this into every argument about Israelis killing civilians from now on.
I will use mathematics to convey the message.
Terrorist + Civilian Cover = Attack
Bomb + Terrorist + Civilian Cover = Dead Terrorist and Civilian Cover.
Bomb wins.
Civilians and terrorists lose.

Well I am glad you admit you are confused. Let me ask you something. If someone came into your house and kidnapped your brother and then started shooting out your windows but they were hiding behind other people who are not shooting but who DELIBERATLY allow them to hide behind them. At first you go behind them and blow up all the bridges and roads so they cannot escape. Then you tell them to return your brother. They keep shooting. One of thier shots kills your mom and with each shot they keep getting closer to you and the rest of your family. Would you start shooting the other People who were DELIBERATLY in the way to get to the shooters?
