I want my son to get some self-guided, web-based practice in middle school math. It doesn't have to be free! I just want something other than a generic practice site, something that actually reteaches (or teaches) skills systematically.

Depending on the age of "middle school" (7th or 8th?) you can use algebrahelp.com. I often direct my 8th grade students to this site! If this doesn't help, just search "math on line tutorials" and you will find a wealth of info. Good Luck.
