It's actually very similar. The major difference now is the hip-hop influence that wasn't present in the 80's.

Nothing, they sound just the same. The difference with the 80's is it was orginal. Not like now all the music is being used over and over. There is not any real creativity any more in pop music.

The music of the 80's was new...and anything that took our minds off of disco was great. It incorporated computers, new instruments and a brand new style of beats. Todays dance music is just a remix with way too much bass and crap thrown in.

the difference is that music from the 80s is actually good, whereas the dance music now pretty much suck, but thats just my humble opinion of course

I am so stuck in the 80's--I love it. It has to be the best music with the 70's R&B coming in really and I mean really close behind.
