We're not rich, but we aim to spend less than we make and to make wise investments. Other than mortgages and one car payment, we do not have debt. We use credit cards that pay cash rebates and never carry a balance. Real estate has given us a comfortable cushion for our retirement. We try to keep enough on reserve (accessible cash) so we could survive a month or two even if one of us was out of work. We have disability insurance. I guess we're just boring, financially prudent people.
