Despite the fact that Shaq is older, can't hit basketball's most fundamental scoring option—the jump shot—or a free throw even if his fat life depended on it, and practically let Wade win him his fourth championship FOR him, yes, Shaq is still the most dominant center in the game today.
Translation: the NBA is so pitiful, so barren of high quality players, a center of Shaq's limited, one-dimensional ilk can be called "the most dominant center in the game today."
After Shaq and Yao, the rest of the NBA centers are pathetic giants getting paid WAY too much money just to GUARD Shaq.
Centers that play in the NBA: "I LOVE this game!"

that's a query for the an prolonged time, yet regrettably we will on no account comprehend. TD, Diesel, and the super value ticket play a thoroughly diverse game than the latter 3. Wilt thoroughly ruled the league through fact he became a guy between boys. for an prolonged time he became the only 7-footer interior the league. Even Russell (at 6-10) became seen a good sized. The basketball of Kareem's era became nearer to at present's NBA, yet there continues to be an excellent hollow. The Wilt/Russell/Jabbar trio have been head and shoulders above their opposition, yet realistically, I doubt that they might have taken TD, Shaq, and KG. The latter 3 have been somewhat transcendant gamers--a number of the best-ever greats--yet at present's athletes are too speedy, too sturdy, and too proficient to lose to them. To be honest, neither TD nor KG ruled the league the way Wilt, Russell, and Kareem did (besides the actuality that Shaq got here close), yet on a point taking part in field, they are merely too solid. Shaq's domination got here at an era while his substantial opposition have been Vlade Divac and Dikembe Mutombo, so which you truly can no longer examine. Wilt and Russell battled Bellamy, Thurmond, or maybe a youthful Kareem. Kareem, in turn, had Walton and (Moses) Malone. Shaq entered merely through fact the Ewing-Robinson-Olajuwon trio became dwindling, and had no person to compete with. So thinking their competitors, Wilt/Russell/Kareem are "better," yet they does not be waiting to conquer the superstars of at present.

In the past, he was. Now, he isn't
In the past, all the center are focus on their power, their energy and their dunk. Undoubtly Shaq is really good at this.
However, besides the mentioned skills, the center nowadays need know how to shot, how to pass the balls, how to assist.... becoming an all - round player. You can see Yao Ming and Novitzki not only grab the rebound, they also can shot 3-point goal.
So, you still think that Shaq is the most dominate center?? I don't think so.

Yes he is. Yao is on his way though. I am sick of hearing people say that Wade had to win that ring for him. Yes, it is Wade's team now, but Shaq spent the whole series being double teamed. When they went to him his passing was magnificent. This is coming from a person who said when the finals started "If Miami wins this, the NBA regresses 8 years as everyone goes back to trying to figure out a way to beat Shaq. If Dallas wins we can finally move on to better basketball."
Well, the NBA regressed. Worse than I'd expected, because we're back to everyone looking for Jordan clones after Wade's performance. But Shaq is still there. Think Wade scores like that if Dallas could have double teamed him all series? Think Walker gets to the rim like that if the D suddenly isn't stuck trying to endlessly rotate so Shaq is never left alone? Think Williams gets those open looks if his defender isn't backing off to defend those lobs inside to the big man? Wonder why every team in the playoffs (minus Phoenix maybe) had their benches stocked with big men? 6 more fouls, 6 more fouls....
Granted, he has his flaws. But to all the haters out there I say this: 4 rings. He must be doing something right.
P.S. - Houston must have been SOOOOO relieved when Miami won. Imagine having spent all that time and money to turn your franchise into the next Shaq/Kobe duo, only to find out that that kind of pairing can't win it all under the new rules and against the more athletic style of play. Imagine in one brief instant your team going from "up and coming" to "outdated". Houson were NOT rooting for the other Texas team to win, I can garauntee you that.

He has the potential to be the most dominant center but now the Wade is their main scorer he'll most likely have less of an impact.

"Most dominant" Yes
I'd say he is the most dominant of all time
he owns the paint
offensively and defensively
every team he has been on has been to the championship
I don't think he has ever had a losing season
