The "Gilmore girls" are a mother and a daughter who are very close and also more like friends because the mother had the girl when she was only 16. The mother came from a rich family, but she rebelled against them, although they are still involved in her life. Both mother and daughter are named Lorelei, but the daughter goes by Rory. The mother runs an inn. The daughter went to private school (thanks to rich grandparents) then Yale. They both have gone through a number of love interests. Everyone on the show talks really fast and is very intense. If you want to catch up, watch ABC family for Gilmore reruns which goes through the whole saga from the beginning. My daughters really love the show. My older daughter's boyfriend loves the show, but I don't think a lot of guys are into it.

A mother & daughter combo that has some serious issues (by serious, I mean, wow are they screwed up at times!). It's awesome! Very funny, and just all together nice. ABC Family shows it in reruns, every day at 5pm. I got started watching it that way when it was showing season 1 partway through. I'm now on season 3 for the 2nd time around, and still insist on watching it or taping it every day, even though I've seen them all already!
There are 6 complete seasons, 5 of which are on DVD (the 6th should be out somewhat soon, actually). Season 7 is starting for the fall season somewhat soon. It's rumored that season 7 may be the last season. As of last spring, the 3 main actors (who play Luke, Lorelei, & Rory) were under contract for a 7th season, but none after that. The creators of the show left after season 6, which is why there is a rumor that the actors are ready to call it quits.
You can read the episode by episode synopsis at tv.com, but it does NOT give the show justice.

It's probably going to go off the air next year (it's that old now). It's about a mom and her daugther (the Gilmore Girls). Mom had daughter when she was 16. Mom's parents are incredibly rich. Mom lives in one of those cool small towns that don't really exist. Mom and daughter and all town members talk cleverly and almost as if they're singing. Despite this bad description of the show... it is a good program.

Lorelai Victoria Gilmore, daughter of very prestigious Richard and Emily Gilmore, met Christopher Hayden at a young age. They dated in their teen years until Lorelai became pregnant and had Lorelai "Rory" Leigh Gilmore, their daughter. Christopher was ready to marry Lorelai after he found out about the pregnancy, but Lorelai declined his offer saying they were too young and Chris should go to college and become something. He was headed to Princeton. Lorelai raised Rory alone. She worked at the Independence Inn in Stars Hollow, a small town in Connecticut. Lorelai moved to Stars Hollow (only about 30 minutes away from where she grew up in Hartford) a little over a year after Rory was born. She had lived at her parents' house until she couldn't handle it anymore and she didn't want to raise Rory the same way she was raised. They lived behind the inn for 11 years until Lorelai bought a house in Stars Hollow. The show follows a 30 something Lorelai and teenage Rory through their town troubles, love life, and school anxiety. Now in its 7th season (beginning on September 26th at 8/7 Central on The CW) Rory has moved on from high school to college and Lorelai is left back in Stars Hollow in a house all to herself.
I don't want to give anything away from the episodes so I pretty much just gave you the basics.

Oh my goodness! I love that show! Anyways...it's about a mother and daughter who get along more as friends then mother and daughter and they go through a lot of things together. It's a lot to really explain, but I think a person would have to watch it from the beginning to really understand it or love it!

the show is basically about the relationship between a single mom and her daughter. the mom became a mom at 16 was from a rich family that obviously did not aprove of the pregnancy, so she left home to raise her child on her own. It is actually a very good show. i watch it religiously and i'm a single mom so i guess i kinda realte to it.

its about a mother(lorelai) and daughter(rory) and how their relationship is so tight...and the relationship between lorelai and her mother (emily)...which is not tight at all...it is also about their life and how they life...i.e. relationships...school....money...friends...family..and many other things...its a very good show...and has alot of messages i suppose..its really good..but its better if you watch it from the first season than tune in to the next(the 7th) season because you will be extremely lost...but its a really good show && i recomend it...
