A friend of a friend is an aspiring model and needs some digital photos to place on the web to market herself. My friend came to me and I want to make sure that I am very fair with her. I think it would be more appropriate to charge a lump some for the session. Any ideas what I should charge?

If you're going to use these photos in your portfolio, then no money should change hands. If you've already got an established business, then charge a small fee. I would suggest cost (makeup, clothing, set, chemicals, paper, etc) + $15 / hour would be reasonable.

If you're "starting out" charge less.

But still charge a bit IF you are using a high end professional camera.

If she's your friend, might as well discount it.

But still, don't go slaving to people. :/
